Hey there, friends and fellow Pickleball enthusiasts!
It’s David “Record Breaker” Rush here, and I’m back with yet another Guinness World Records title under my belt. This time, it’s for the most blindfolded Pickleball serves in one minute. Blindfolded!
Let me take you back to how this all started. I stumbled across a video of the existing record—23 serves. And honestly? It looked way too easy. I thought, Hey, I could crush this.
Now, a little about me: I was a pretty solid table tennis player back in my college days at MIT. I went undefeated in club play, (though to be fair, I only played one match). I did make it to the A-League intramural finals one year, but… lost. My brother-in-law also has some athletic street cred—he faced Jack Sock (you know, Grand Slam champ and Olympic gold medalist) in the Kansas State tennis finals. Jack crushed him, but not as badly as I expected. And now, Jack Sock is plays professional Pickleball. Small world, huh?
With all that in mind, I grabbed my paddle and hit the court. After a bit of practice—and by “a bit,” I mean hours —I felt ready to take on the challenge.
On the official attempt day, I was in the zone. Paddle in one hand, blindfold snug over my eyes, and 60 seconds on the clock. I managed to knock out 43 serves that landed in the service square. But one of them landed just after the timer expired, and for some mysterious reason, Guinness disqualified another one. So, the final count? 41 blindfolded Pickleball serves in one minute.
Not too shabby, right?
But here’s the thing: I know I can do better. This past year, I’ve been absolutely obsessed with Pickleball. My skills have skyrocketed, and I’m already plotting my next attempt.
So, to all the record chasers out there: Keep pushing your limits, have fun, and remember—you never know what you can achieve until you try. Oh, and keep an eye out for me on the court. Blindfolded or not, I’ll be serving up some serious heat.
Cheers
