You know I love a good record attempt, especially when it involves a mess. This one was no exception. I went down to my friend and YouTube legend Josh Horton’s studio to film a few new world record attempts, and one of them was for the most water balloons burst in three minutes.
The Setup
The rules for this one were pretty simple: I had to throw the balloons from a set distance, and Carson had to be the one getting hit and popping them. Every balloon had to break on him to count. If it hit him and didn’t pop, no good.
Carson was fired up for this one. He wanted to get his first Guinness World Record title, and he was ready to get soaked to do it. I started launching balloon after balloon while he moved around trying to get in position to pop as many as possible. It was chaos in the best way.
The Record
The previous record was 114 balloons burst in three minutes. We threw a ton of balloons, and plenty of them bounced off without popping, but enough of them broke to set a new record. When the timer hit zero, the final total was 125 balloons burst, giving us another Guinness World Record title.
That made it around my 300th world record and Carson’s very first. The look on his face when the count came in said it all.
The Aftermath
We were both completely drenched, there were bits of balloon everywhere, and everyone in the studio was laughing. It was the perfect mix of skill, teamwork, and total chaos. Big thanks to Josh for hosting and filming another epic session.
