Breaking the Record for Fastest Time to Hang Up 10 Items of Clothing (Team of Two)
It took two to hang up 10 items of clothing as quickly as possible for this record. Not only did it take a mix of strategy, persistence, and a little bit of risk (especially when asking my wife to help speed things up when putting away clothes).
The previous record for the fastest time to hang up 10 pieces of clothing — as a team of two — was 57.87 seconds. But with determination and several practice attempts (and failed official attempts), we managed to shave off a chunk of time, completing the task in 51.8 seconds during their final official attempt.
Before I got the rules I wondered if I grab 10 random pieces of clothing and get to work. The rules set by Guinness are specific, and choosing the right garments was nearly as challenging as the task itself. Buttons, zippers, and the need for precise folding made the selection process intense — almost like the bachelorette of clothing choices.
Even with the chosen clothes in hand, the process took time. We practiced and failed, trying to beat the existing 57.87-second mark over and over. It was frustrating, but every attempt taught us something new about the technique.
When it finally came time for the official attempt, the team was ready. With the crew on hand and the pressure on, we raced against the clock, grabbing, folding, zipping, and hanging the clothes with precision. In just 51.8 seconds, we achieved our goal and secured the world record.
We hugged, we kissed, and then we collapsed from exhaustion. It’s a great feeling to break another world record, and to do it with my wife by my side made it even more special.
