When people hear I have 350+ Guinness World Records titles, they usually assume every record attempt must involve extreme athleticism, endless training, or some kind of wild circus trick.

Sometimes it does.

But some of my favorite records are the ones that sound easy. The ones where everyone listening says, “Wait, that’s a Guinness World Record? I could do that!”

And they are right.

They could do it.

At least… they could do it individually.

Because here’s the secret: group world records are a totally different beast.

The Record That Sounds Easy Until You Try It

This one is a perfect example:

Most balloons kept in the air by a team of 12 for one full minute.

On paper, it feels simple.

You do not need a gym membership.

You do not need special equipment.

You do not need world class speed.

You just need balloons… and 12 people who can keep those balloons floating for one minute.

Easy, right?

Not even close.

The Real Challenge Is Not the Skill, It’s the Synchronization

A lot of individual Guinness World Records attempts come down to one person performing one task.

You can practice alone. You can adjust. You can retry quickly.

But with a team of 12, you have 12 different variables, and the record attempt only counts if all 12 people perform correctly, at the same time, for the full duration.

Even if each person is 90 percent likely to do their part perfectly, the odds of success are not 90 percent anymore.

They are:

0.9¹² = 0.2824

That is 28.24%.

Meaning even when everyone is “almost good enough,” you still fail about 71.76% of the time.

And that matches reality.

Because in group records, when you are 90 percent there, most of the time you are still going to fail.

Many Tries, Almost Wins, and One Tiny Rule That Ruined Everything

For our attempt, we ran a bunch of “mini tries,” building confidence and momentum.

We were close. Really close.

At one point, we even thought we got it.

You know that feeling when everybody is already celebrating, and the excitement starts leaking out into the room like a victory parade?

Yeah, that happened.

People dispersed.

We started reviewing video footage.

Then we discovered it.

One of the tiny rules. One of those mini mini rules that seems harmless until you realize Guinness World Records cares about details, because details are what make records fair.

The attempt did not count.

So we had to do the group record attempt version of the most painful reset imaginable.

We gathered the whole team back up again.

Reinflated the balloons.

Did everything on camera.

Measured them.

Reset the space.

And tried again.

The Try That Finally Locked It In

After a few more attempts, we nailed it.

25 balloons kept in the air for one full minute, by a team of 12, following all the rules.

And that moment felt amazing.

Not just because it was another Guinness World Records title added to the list, but because for 11 of the 12 people, it was their first Guinness World Records title ever.

That is the part I love most.

It is not just breaking a record.

It is sharing it.

A Sweet Moment at a Trade Show

What made it even better is that we did it in the middle of something I genuinely love: the tech industry.

We shared the record attempt at a trade show, surrounded by that energy you only get when smart people are building, connecting, shipping products, and pushing ideas forward.

It was a blast to be back in tech.

I spent 13 years working in the tech world before taking a couple years to focus on something even bigger.

Raising my daughter.

Traveling the world.

Doing keynote speaking.

Chasing world records in every corner of the planet.

Now I’m back working in tech again, and honestly, it has been an awesome experience combining my two passions.

World Records and Tech Have More in Common Than You Think

World records are about performance, precision, and pressure.

Tech is the same.

You build the system. You test. You iterate. You fail fast.

You fix one tiny issue. Then suddenly it works.

And in both worlds, success is rarely about doing something once.

It is about doing it right, when it counts, with the full team aligned.

The Takeaway: Want to Break a Record? Bring Friends… and Be Ready to Restart

If you are looking for the easiest Guinness World Records to break, group records might make the list.

But if you are looking for the hardest ones to actually pull off under pressure, group records belong there too.

Because one person can have a bad second.

One person can drift out of position.

One person can break a tiny rule that nobody noticed until playback.

And then you are reinflating balloons on camera, again, praying the next try is the one.

This time, it was.

25 balloons. 12 people. 1 minute. A Guinness World Records title.

And for 11 first time record holders, it was a sweet moment they will never forget.

Juggling My Way Through All 63 U.S. National Parks – A Record-Breaking Adventure!

What started as a love for juggling at age eight has now taken me to every single U.S. national park—juggling in all 63 of them! If I’m not the first to do it (which as far as I can tell I am), I’m at least the fastest, completing this journey in under five years.

This adventure was a family mission. My two sons (now 8 and 6) have completed all 63 parks and the National Park Junior Ranger Program, making them strong contenders for the youngest brothers to achieve this feat. And none of this would have been possible without my wife, the ultimate trip planner. While working full-time as a mechanical engineer at HP (designing LaserJet printers), she mapped out every park visit with precision—all while giving birth to our third child and raising our two young boys.

From the towering peaks of Denali to the vast dunes of White Sands, I’ve tossed balls in some of the most breathtaking places on Earth. But the real magic? Experiencing it all as a family.

Check out the video for highlights of this wild juggling journey—because nothing says “national parks” like a few well-timed throws in front of Old Faithful!

🎥 Watch now and let me know—which park would you want to juggle in first?

Breaking the Guinness World Record: 240 Catches in One Minute While Juggling a Bowling Ball and Two Juggling Balls on a Balance Board

I I achieved the Guinness World Record for the most juggling catches in one minute while juggling a 10-pound bowling ball and two juggling balls while standing on a balance board. The minimum mark stood at 100 catches, but on my third attempt (after dropping early on the first 2) at the Guinness World Records headquarters in London, I smashed it with 240 catches. T

The record required juggling a 10-pound bowling ball and two standard juggling balls while balancing on a roller board. Sounds tough, right? It was. But the hardest part wasn’t just the juggling or the balancing—it was the combination of both, along with the added challenge of the bowling ball’s weight and the board’s instability. The Guinness MC even tried to stand on the roller board himself and quickly realized how tricky it was. He fell off almost immediately, which gave me a good laugh but also highlighted just how difficult this record was.

I didn’t have my usual balance board for this attempt because it was too big to travel with. The replacement board I used had a mind of its own. Every time I caught the bowling ball, the board would slide across the rolling rock or the floor, creating a super slippery surface. It felt like I was juggling on ice!

A 10-pound bowling ball might not sound like much, but when you’re catching it as fast as you can while juggling, it takes a toll. My biceps were screaming by the end of the attempt, but the real pain came from the outside of my wrists. I was dealing with tendinitis, which made every catch even more painful.

Balancing, juggling, and counting catches all at once required intense focus. One slip, one missed catch, and the entire attempt could (and did) fall apart. Staying mentally sharp was just as important as the physical endurance.

On my third attempt, everything clicked. Despite the slippery board, the heavy bowling ball, and the wrist pain, I managed to pull off 240 catches in one minute—more than double the mark of 100. The feeling of accomplishment was palpable. All the hours of practice, the sore muscles, and the challenges along the way were worth it in that moment.

David Rush Breaks Guinness World Record for Most Juggling Tricks in One Minute

By David Rush

Hey, it’s David Rush here, and I’m excited to share the news: I’ve officially broken the Guinness World Record for the **most juggling tricks performed in one minute**! This record has been on my bucket list since 2017, and in 2024, at the Guinness World Records headquarters in London, I finally achieved it with **49 tricks** in 60 seconds.

The previous record of **39 tricks** was held by one of my juggling idols, Taylor Glen (aka **TaylorTries**), a legend in the juggling community. To say this record was a challenge is an understatement. It took years of practice, weeks of intense preparation, and a commitment to finally take it down (as well as the preparation to ask for her forgiveness afterwords, which thankfully she gave!). When the moment came, I gave it everything I had. With a Guinness adjudicator on site, I performed **49 juggling tricks** in one minute—shattering the previous record and achieving a goal I’ve dreamed about for years. And the best part? I got it on the first try.

This record isn’t just about the number of tricks; it’s about the journey (especailly the journey to holding the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles). Taylor Glen has been an inspiration to me and countless others in the juggling world, and breaking this record shows the power of perseverance, practice, and passion. It’s also a reminder that even the most daunting goals are achievable with dedication and hard work. This record has been on my list since 2017, and finally achieving it in 2024 feels like a full-circle moment.

*Check out the video on YouTube above to see the skill it took to pull off 49 juggling tricks in one minute.

Breaking the Guinness World Record for Most Bites Taken Out of Three Apples While Juggling – A Story of Precision, Speed, and Perseverance**

*By David Rush*

Hey, it’s David Rush here, and I’m thrilled to share the story of how I broke one of the hardest Guinness World Records I’ve ever attempted: the **the most bites taken out of three apples in one minute while juggling them**. This record is as wild as it sounds, and achieving it was never a given.

*The Record-Breaking Moment** In 2024, at the Guinness World Records headquarters in London, I attempted this record again after first setting it back in 2018 at the MIT Juggling Convention with **164 bites**. I had professional juggler asking me at that event how much practice it took. I honestly told him it took months. They were defeated already. This time, I pushed myself to the limit and achieved A number I don’t think I would even have a believed before I did it **198 bites in one minute**. That’s over **3 bites per second**.

The rules are strict so each bite has to be small, precise, and fast. There’s no time to swallow (even though swallowing is allowed), so I had to spit out the bites while keeping the apples in motion (but only after my mouth couldn’t hold anymore to be efficient). It’s a chaotic, intense, and utterly exhilarating challenge.  I even had to struggle with apple juice in my eye during the attempt.  The Guinness adjudicator was on hand to verify the attempt on the spot, and I walked away with the official certificate. This record is one of the hardest I’ve ever broken, and I’m incredibly proud of the result.

**Why This Record Matters** Ok, so it doesn’t… not really, but it’s not just about biting apples or juggling—it’s about pushing mself. It’s a reminder that with focus, determination, and a willingness to embrace the absurd, we can achieve extraordinary things. When I first set this record in 2018, I never thought I’d break it again. But in 2024, I proved to myself that even the most challenging goals can be surpassed with hard work and persistence.

Want to see the record-breaking attempt in action? Check out the video on YouTube above to witness the chaos, precision, and sheer speed of this incredible feat.

Thank you for following my journey! If you’ve ever thought about attempting something unconventional or seemingly impossible, let this be your sign to go for it. — *#GuinnessWorldRecord #RecordBreaker #DavidRush #Juggling #Apples #Inspiration #London*

Breaking the Record for the Most Concurrent Guinness World Records Titles

I am thrilled to announce that I have broken the world record for the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles! This feels like a lifetime achievement for me as it took 9 years, over twice as long as my Electrical Engineering Degree from MIT, and I now hold the record for the most titles held simultaneously.

The Journey to the Record

Watch the YouTube video to see the full story. It’s a journey filled with drama, suspense, and intrigue, and it almost didn’t happen.

I am only the third person to ever hold this record. The first was Ashrita Furman, the patriarch of Guinness World Records, born in 1955, the same year as the Guinness World Records itself. The second was Silvio Sabba from Italy, who held the record since 2020. When I started tracking in early 2021, I had a mere 87 records compared to Silvio’s 228. This is the story of how I got there, and it wasn’t a straightforward path. One year, I almost walked away from Guinness World Records entirely.

Common Misconceptions

A common misconception is revealed by one of the most common questions I get: “How do you make up all the records?”. The vast majority of the records I have broken existed already and I found them, practiced, and then broke them.

Why Break Records?

It started to promote STEM education. A student might fail a math test or struggle with science and therefore say they can’t be an engineer. But I’ve learned with a growth mindset accompanied by grit, you can accomplish virtually anything. Like not being smart enough to get into the gifted program in the Idaho public education system to getting my EE degree from MIT. Or from not being all that athletic to breaking a Guinness World Records title (or the most!).

My First Record

The first record I wanted to break was the fastest 800m juggling. I aimed for 2:13 but got down to 2:21 in a time trial before I hurt my knee and had to give up.The very first record I successfully broke was the longest duration blindfolded juggling, for six minutes and 34 seconds. I’ve since broken it three more times and now hold the record at over an hour and two minutes.

The First 10 Records

The rest of the first 10 records I broke were:

  • Fastest five-ball juggling
  • Most juggling head rolls in one minute
  • Longest duration bouncing a chainsaw on the chin
  • Fastest blindfolded juggling
  • World’s fastest juggling
  • Most selfies taken in three minutes (disqualified)
  • Longest duration bouncing a bicycle on the chin
  • Furthest distance traveled with a pool cue balanced on the finger
  • Longest duration bouncing a ladder on the chin

Of these, I currently hold only one, so only one counts towards the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles held.

The Timeline

  • October 2015: Broke my first record
  • 2016: Broke 10 records
  • 2017: Broke 22 records
  • 2018: Broke 51 records
  • 2019: Almost gave up after breaking 47 records with 74 completed applications, 27 of which didn’t count
  • 2020: Broke 43 records
  • 2021: My most famous year, breaking 52 records in 52 weeks
  • 2022: Broke 25 records
  • 2023: Broke 45 records
  • 2024: Achieved my goal of holding the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles at 181.

The Competition

With Silvio Sabba holding 180 records, Ashrita Furman 150, and Andre Ortolf with about 100, I have my work cut out for me to keep this record in my name.

437 Juggling Catches Blindfolded on a Balance Board in One Minute

Five years ago, I faced a setback. I applied for a Guinness World Record for the most juggling catches in one minute while on a balance board, blindfolded. But my application was denied. My proposed record was too similar to the existing one for the most consecutive juggling catches under the same conditions. They said it could be considered once the consecutive record surpassed one minute or reached a significant number of catches.

Back then, I had only managed 77 catches in 12 seconds. It was a humble beginning, but I was determined to push further.

Fast forward five years, and my persistence paid off. In my last video, I shattered the previous record for the most consecutive catches, achieving a 3000+% increase, lasting over six minutes. It was time to revisit my old ambition with Guinness World Records.

This time, they approved my application, setting the bar high at 250 catches. The question loomed over me: could I beat it?

I dedicated weeks to practice, honing my skills until the moment of truth arrived. With my blindfold secured and my feet planted on the wobbling balance board, I began at the count of “3, 2, 1, go!” I juggled relentlessly, my hands a blur, as I maintained my balance without sight. The seconds ticked by, each one a battle against time and gravity.

When the timer signaled the end of the minute, we reviewed the footage in slow motion. The final count? 437 catches. Another Guinness World Record title was mine, surpassing even the world’s fastest juggling record I set in 2016 with 428 catches. This achievement marked my 176th record, edging closer to my goal of holding the most concurrent records at 181.

Records are indeed made to be broken, and I’m here to prove it, one catch at a time.

The Unseen Balance: Journey to 2,346 Juggling Catches Blindfolded on a Balance Board

Some records are like mountains, towering and daunting, challenging you to either find a path up or turn back. The record for the most juggling catches while on a balance board, blindfolded was my Everest. It was a title I birthed into the world of Guinness World Records, setting the bar at 50 catches. But as I quickly learned, creating a record and conquering it are two very different things.

For years, I honed my craft, juggling not just with my hands but with my heart, each throw a beat in the rhythm of my ambition. I remember the day I surpassed the minimum with 77 catches—a personal victory, yet, in the grand scheme, only a foothold on the ascent.

Then, the challenge was thrown down. Another juggler, a faceless rival, snatched the record away with 159 catches. The gauntlet was laid; the mark was set. And so, I pushed further, harder, reaching a seemingly insurmountable 1,316 catches. It felt like an impossible peak had been scaled.

But records, like mountains, are rarely conquered for long. My adversary, relentless, eclipsed my record with 1,717 catches. The audacity! Yet, this was no time for disbelief. With my goal to hold the most concurrent records in 2024, every title defended is a step closer to that ultimate summit.

Back to the balance board, I went. Not just a piece of equipment, but a symbol of the equilibrium between determination and skill. The hardest part? Not the juggling, nor the board, nor the blindfold that plunged my world into darkness. It was the balance—the delicate dance between gravity and will.

Record day arrived. The blindfold settled over my eyes, the board under my feet. I juggled, I faltered, I persevered. One attempt, then two, three, and on the fourth—a symphony of throws and catches, a blur of speed and precision. For 6 minutes and 21 seconds, I defied the odds, my hands a whirlwind, until 2,346 catches were mine.

With 175 records in my grasp, I’m on track for 181. The journey continues, each record a story, each catch a word in the narrative of a life lived on the edge of possibility.

The Quest to Reclaim My Blindfolded Juggling World Record

It finally happened. After eight years of holding onto my very first Guinness World Record, it slipped through my fingers like a bean bag tossed too high. I’m talking about the record for the longest duration blindfolded juggling—a record that was as much a part of me as the very hands that kept those balls in the air.

Back in 1993, my uncle handed my brother and me three bean bags in his Seattle warehouse. Those bags were the seeds that grew into a forest of hours—close to 10,000—dedicated to the art of juggling. By 2015, I was ready to prove I could be the best in the world at something. My target: the Guinness World Record for the fastest 800m run while juggling. Despite two years and 2,000 miles under my belt, a knee injury forced me to pivot. That’s when I realized I could almost juggle the basic 3-ball cascade blindfolded.

In October of 2015, I stood before 300 people and surpassed the standing record of 6 minutes 29 seconds with a new time of 6 minutes 34 seconds. The crowd erupted, and in my excitement, I nearly fumbled it all. But I held on, and over the years, I pushed that record up to 32 minutes 7 seconds.

But now, an Australian has toppled my record with an 43 minutes and 30 seconds. I tip my hat, but I’m not one to back down. That record has my name written all over it, and I intend to claim it back.

My recent triumphs have set the stage for this comeback. Breaking the record for the longest duration juggling at 13 hours 10 minutes has primed me for this moment. I’ve juggled on balance boards, Swiss balls, unicycles—you name it, I’ve juggled on it. And let’s not forget the fastest mile run while juggling blindfolded in 7 minutes 54 seconds.

A few more weeks of practice, and I’ll be ready to face the challenge head-on.

1 hour 3 minutes 4 seconds later and I dropped a ball ending the successful attempt.

Fun Facts About Blindfolded Juggling:

The art of blindfolded juggling dates back over 2,300 years, with ancient Chinese warriors juggling seven swords while blindfolded.
It’s not just a skill; it’s a competitive sport with its own niche in juggling festivals and conventions.
Juggling blindfolded isn’t just for show—it enhances brain function, memory, spatial awareness, and mental imagery.
As an art form, it can be both dramatic and comedic, adding layers of entertainment to the performance.
And who knows? Maybe one day, I’ll be juggling torches without seeing them.
