Not all my records get viewed 70 Millions times within 24 hours of being posted… but not all my records are like this. Some don’t inspire rapid reactions like the most times to bounce a ping pong ball off a wall with the mouth. Last time I broke the record it stool at 34 in 30 seconds by another guy. I got 43. James Corden did a 3 minute segment on the record then. The jokes were flowing.
This time I was trying to break my own record while in London at Guinness World Records HQ. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to beat is since it’s an extremely challenging record that requires speed, precision, and consistency. When I did finally break it, I was absolutely thrilled.
The number one question is: How do I discover that I had this skill? The trick is you don’t “discover” you’re good at something, you “decide”. This applies to science, technology, engineering, and math (which I promote) as well as being a better friend, husband, a better speaker, better at remembering names or a better cook. You decide and then if you really want to get good practice with grit and a growth mindset.
Sure, it’s not the most flattering record but I’m proud of the effort that it took and the hundreds of failures I was able to overcome to capture this Guinness World Records title.
